The ISAC facility at TRIUMF(Canada) is now fully operational and is starting to produce science. I shall describe the initial program which has been approved for the first stage of the facility, ISAC-1, and present some of the observations and conclusions derived from the first year of running with accelerated beams. In the last part of the talk, I will outline the status of the expansion towards higher masses and higher energies, ISAC-II, which should be available by mid 2005.
