We propose a new method for extracting the spectroscopic factors from transfer reactions. The method is applicable whenever there is a significant contribution from the interior to the reaction amplitude and thus the energies should be well above the Coulomb barrier. It is based on fixing the contribution of the peripheral part of the reaction amplitude, which depends on the ANC, through the same reaction at sub-Coulomb energies or another independent reaction. Then, combining this information with the transfer data above the barrier to determine S. We consider test cases on stable nuclei and analise the applications to exotic nuclei.
