Large-x partons from JLab to the LHC
I discuss the recent CTEQ-JLab global QCD fits of parton distributions,
focused on the region of large parton momentum fraction x. I will review
the various corrections to the leading-twist perturbative calculations
needed to include data in this kinematics, with a special focus on nuclear
corrections. These latter are necessary to make use of Deep Inelastic
Scattering data on deuteron targets and separate up and down quarks to a
high level of statistical precision, but introduce large theoretical
systematic uncertainties. I will discuss the consequence of these
uncertainties for observables at the Tevatron and the LHC, and,
conversely, I will argue how experiments at colliders (and elsewhere) may
help constraining the nuclear modifications of parton distributions.
