The history and progress of understanding chirality in atomic nuclei are reviewed, in particular, the recent experimental evidences of multiple chiral doublet bands and the theoretical collective Hamiltonian based on the tilted axis cranking approach to describe chiral vibration and rotation modes. The new experimental achievements for chirality and multiple chiral doublets in 106Ag, 133Ce, 103Rh, and 78Br with distinct and identical configurations are discussed.
